Interstate 22 is a major East–West transcontinental Interstate Highway in the southwestern portions of the United States. At a length of 69 miles (330 km), it is the first-shortest Interstate Highway in the country. From East to West, it passes through Mississippi and Alabama. Its West end is at Interstate 269, U.S. Route 78 and Mississippi Highway 304 in Byhalia, Mississippi while its East end is at a concurrency with Interstate 65 in Birmingham, Alabama.
