Interstate 49 is a major transcontinental highway in the US. Its South terminus is at Interstate 10 and U.S. Route 167 in Lafayette, Louisiana and its North end is at Interstate 470 in Kansas City, Missouri. On its route I-49 traverses through the states of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri for a total of 4 states. I-49 is known as the Transamerica Highway or “America’s Expressway” because of the roads immense history following many iconic old highways and trails. Interstate 49 Serves The Cities of Lafayette, Shreveport, Texarkana, Forth Smith, Bentonville, Joplin and Kansas City.
