Interstate 59 is a major North-South transcontinental Interstate Highway in the United States. At a length of 489 miles (787 km), it is the third-longest Interstate Highway in the country. From North to South, it passes through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia for a total of 4 states. Its South end is at Interstate 10 and Interstate 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana while its North end is at Interstate 34 in Wildwood, Georgia. Interstate 59 Serves The Cities of New Orleans, Meridian, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Chattanooga.
