Vowels[]
Vowels are /a/, /ɑ/, /ɒ/, /æ/, /e/, /œ/, /i/, /ɪ/, /o/, /ʌ/, /u/ and /ʊ/, without length differentiation. Metaphony occurs with /e/ and /o/, which in particular tend to be open-mid [ɛ] and [ɔ] when they are stressed and the following syllable does not contain /i/ or u or a palatal.
There are also nasal vowels [ã], [ẽ], [ĩ], [õ], [ũ] in some varieties.
